Harnessing natural strength.

The SHAWOOD structural timbers that frame your home are sourced from sustainable forests in Northern Europe. The cold climate here slows the growth of trees, yielding the stronger, denser wood required for homebuilding.

The timbers are cut into thin strips, or lamina, to reveal and remove any weaknesses. The strongest sections from each tree are then assembled into beams using high-performance adhesive to bond the wood together.

Each beam – which can span up to 8 metres – is steam treated at immense pressures and temperatures. This process imbues the wood with the strength of steel, making it capable of supporting the structure of your home.
